AIRBRUSH MAKEUP
Working with an airbrush as a makeup application tool for makeup artists.

Course Description

Airbrush makeup is sprayed on the skin in a fine mist, by way of an airbrush “gun” powered by an air compressor. The compressor forces air along with the product through the needle in the front of the airbrush. This method of applying makeup connects with the skin as millions of droplets that create a flawless, sheer, natural appearance to the skin without any streaking.
An airbrush is a versatile tool that can be used to apply makeup, body paint and body art, colouring special effect characters and tattoo cover ups. Airbrush makeup is popular with brides as the formulations are long lasting and mostly waterproof giving a flawless finish.

HOW DO I CHOOSE WHICH SCHOOL TO STUDY AT FOR MAKEUP?

Begin by researching makeup training facilities. The trainers and educators at these institutions should be active artists in the makeup industry, possessing extensive experience and up-to-date portfolios. It's beneficial to meet with your trainers before enrolling to discuss course options and training formats, allowing you to gauge their expertise and industry knowledge.

Inquire about the makeup kit you'll receive during training, as it's crucial to use professional-grade products at all times. Kohl Academy® does not offer "student kits"; instead, all kits and products align with industry standards. To become a professional, it's essential to learn from experts using professional tools.

Review the training manuals and the frequency of program updates. Given that the makeup industry is constantly evolving, your training facility should stay current with the latest skills and techniques.

Assess the standard of work produced by past and current students, as this will provide insight into the quality of training you can expect. Additionally, visit the facilities to ensure that the environment meets professional standards.

As this is a portfolio-driven industry, part of the training at Kohl Academy® involves helping students build their portfolios. Professional photographers capture the portfolios, teaching students how to source models, create concepts, design, implement ideas, and collaborate as a team while ensuring their work translates well on camera.

Follow the facility's social media pages for the latest updates on what is being taught. These platforms will showcase the quality of work from both students and trainers. Ensure that the images displayed on websites and social media are not stock photos but rather actual work produced by the facility, as stock images can be misleading. Kohl Academy® will NEVER use stock images.

"Morné Marx from Kohl Pretoria has always been an entrepreneur.  He was the head hair stylist at Isidingo, South Africa's beloved soapie.  This is where I forged a lifelong friendship with him.  He has an enigmatic creative energy and passion to create.  His work is high quality and his vision for perfection is undeniable.  These attributes led him to acquiring Kohl Pretoria Franchise and a few short years later Kohl Cape Town.

It is no surprise the Kohl Academy brand has grown this rapidly.  Leadership, ethics filters from the top.  I know when I have my makeup done everyone at the academy is perfection, driven and I'm in good hands."
